PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF SELECTED TREATMENT TECHNIQUES AND MODELS OF PHOSPHATE REDUCTION

Abstract
The imperative impact of environmental pollution includes future dangerous climate which contributes to an upsurge in the occurrence and strength of extreme rainfall events. This paper focuses on the performance evaluation of selected techniques and models used for predicting phosphate elimination from aqueous solutions. Both synthetic and typical textile wastewaters containing phosphate were imperilled to chemical and combination of biological first followed chemical treatment. The study revealed that for chemical treatment only, the average, maximum, minimum, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, Skewness and Kurtosis of the performance were 0.60, 0.72, 0.24, 0.14, 23.23 %, -1.83 and 3.52, respectively. In the case of combined biological and chemical treatments, the average, maximum, minimum, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, Skewness and Kurtosis of the performance were 0.99, 1.00, 0.92, 0.03, 2.61 %, -1.98 and 3.41, respectively. It was revealed that for chemical treatment only for raw water in the wet season, the average, maximum, minimum, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, Skewness and Kurtosis of the performance were 092, 0.94, 0.86, 0.02, 2.60 %, -2.01 and 3.47, respectively. It was concluded that these selected factors are of two folds (positive and negative effects factors).
